Heroes Legacy Award- Deadline April 30th

The Heroes Among Us began in 2020 as Back the Blue from Caldwell, formed to advocate for and support law enforcement officers during a time when publicly doing so was often controversial.

As the organization grew, so did our mission — expanding to support all those who stood on the front lines, their families, and community members facing hardship after disaster, crisis, and loss.

The Heroes Legacy Award was created to honor the strength, sacrifice, and resilience of service families — and to encourage students as they step into their next chapter.

The Heroes Legacy Award is open to graduating seniors who currently attend:

Hibriten High School
South Caldwell High School
West Caldwell High School

To qualify, the student must have a parent, step-parent, or legal guardian who serves or has served in:

Law enforcement
Fire service
EMS
Dispatch

And yes — active, retired, and deceased service family members all qualify.

This award is meant to recognize students from families that know what sacrifice, service, responsibility, and resilience look like up close.

Students can apply whether they plan to attend college, trade school, enter the workforce, or take another path after graduation.

This is not limited to one type of student. It is about the person they are and the character they have shown.
